Natural Ambassadors for the Bay’s Birds

South Lakes Ecology are heading up the Natural Ambassadors Project for Morecambe Bay Partnership. This Headlands to Headspace funded project aims to recruit volunteers to show people birds close to high tide roosts around Morecambe Bay. Volunteers will be asked to attend up to two sessions each month at key locations where they will actively engage with visitors, enthusing them about the Bay’s birds, and encouraging responsible behaviour around the easily disturbed roosts.

Volunteers will need to have good knowledge of most of the Bays Birds (although training in bird identification will be provided), and will be happy to talk to members of the public about the natural heritage on their doorstep.
